Augustine Odafi is a seasoned economist, investment banker, and business leader with over three decades of distinguished experience in treasury management, securities trading, mortgage banking, and financial consulting. His academic foundation includes a BSc in Economics from the University of Benin and an MBA from Enugu State University of Science & Technology Business School, equipping him with robust theoretical knowledge and strategic business acumen.
Mr. Odafi began his illustrious career at United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), one of Nigeria’s foremost financial institutions, where he gained foundational expertise in banking operations. He later transitioned to Gilt Bond Finance & Securities Ltd as a Treasury Officer, honing his skills in capital markets and liquidity management. His exceptional performance led him to Network Mortgage Finance (a mortgage banking firm), where he rose from Senior Treasury Officer to Treasury Manager, demonstrating strong leadership in funds mobilization and asset-liability management.
Between 1993 and 1998, he served as Head of Treasury Operations Group and later as Managing Director/CEO of Parklane Securities & Trust Limited, where he oversaw investment portfolios, securities trading, and trust services, contributing significantly to the firm’s growth. His expertise in structured finance earned him an international role as Mortgage Adviser and Financial Consultant to the Commonwealth Consortium (UK), where he provided strategic advisory services for seven years, facilitating cross-border investment initiatives.
A dynamic entrepreneur, Mr. Odafi founded Worldscope Media & Telecoms Limited in 2011, where he currently serves as CEO. Under his leadership, the company has emerged as a key player in media and telecommunications, leveraging innovative solutions to bridge information and connectivity gaps.
